Stay

I want to change the nature of my heartbeat
This instant is wedged between a crumbling day
and a wondrous trail 
I want to stay
This place feels as forlorn as it does
restrained
If you come with me, I will hold a stoic rhythm
With each misstep, so will I a tear swallow
And these days shall follow this trail
I want to see the light these moments hide
Mornings divide my quests by my emotions
But here, I swear I shall stay
