Status Quo
About the status quo, many lies are told,
The beating death of a young man of color,
that is not the status quo, it is the exception,
The status quo is more police protection,
today there is more opportunity to behold,
more chance to make a dollar,
that is the current status quo.
things have changed since the days of my youth when such incidents were commonplace and received little media attention.
