Stately Snapdragons

Delicate petals on stately stalks sway in the breeze, sweet, scented nectar attracts hummingbirds and bees. I watch them while sipping iced tea in my lawn chair, Snapdragons adorn my garden with a decorative flair. They're not fire-breathing blooms, standing in sunlight, proudly displaying a variety of colors, bold and bright. They grace my walkways in the seasons, spring and fall as floral sentinels they greet me, standing lordly and tall. Hi Jenna, Snapdragons are such pretty, happy flowers. Also a favourite of mine. My grandparents used to grow a them in their garden. Wonderful array of colours too. I enjoyed reading your beautiful poem. Congratulations on your first place win. Cheers Anne :-)

I've never understood the name for this bloom, but I have certainly enjoyed it, in reality as well as in verse.

Thank you, Jim. If you gently pinch the bloom, it opens to look like the face of a dragon.

6 gardens! I'm so jealous. I'd be happy with one, but apartment life limits me to what I can grow inside. Thank you, Frederic.

Good one, Jenna. I think I see a winner here. I still haven't decided on a flower, but I must work on it today or the contest will close without me.
