State of Affairs
Cover-ups, deceit and lies with every word spoken
Donald and Hilary all morals continually broken.
What is it with the times
no honest politician can we find.
They slip and slide just outside the truth
expecting our vote in the polling booth.
Nothing seems to change the repertoire
she said, he said, honesty in the reservoir.
Past mistakes they say
different from who they are today.
Ashamed I am
of both republican and democratic stands.
The average citizen outnumbers all
but we are the ones who take the fall.
Give me and honest man or woman
to keep the nation from its ruin
This is the saddest state of affairs
do any of our representatives care?
