Stars

Stars

As I wonder at your starlit heavens
The thought comes to my mind
Why you made it all so vast
The end no man can find?

Is it saying that we’re so small,
Like a drop of rain in the ocean
Like a man that passes by an ant
Without the slightest notion?

Have you written a message in the stars
A sign we all should heed
If you have I feel I know what it says
And in part, this is how it would read…

“My son, I hope that you can see,
That this display of creativity,
Is not to insult your tiny size
But help you come to realise
That no matter how far apart we are,
Whatever the distance may be,
It can never separate my love from you,
For you belong to me! “
