Stars
Why are there Stars? I will tell you why…
Stars come out so we know that it is
Time for a fireworks show to begin.
Stars give us light when there is a new moon.
Stars are steady and constant light in the night sky as a background
So when we see a meteor zip through them we will take notice.
Stars are in the sky so that clouds will have something to
Cover up besides the moon.
Stars give us something to look at
On a camp out after the fire burns down.
Stars are there to make us wonder
If we are the only ones in the universe.
Stars bring us closer to those far away
We know they can see what we see and it makes us feel better.
Stars let us relive tales of ghosts and gods and long ago journeys.
Stars see everything and know everything
They have been watching for a very, long, long time.
Stars give us something to count at night besides sheep
When we cannot go to sleep at night.
Stars sprinkle the night sky with tiny pinpricks of light
So that the Fireflies can take a break and go to sleep.
