Notes About The Poem

"I could smell the curves of the river beyond the dusk and I saw the last light supine and tranquil upon tideflats like pieces of broken mirror, then beyond them lights began in the pale clear air, trembling a little like butterflies hovering a long way off." - William Faulkner

Starlight Haze - Collab

Many mirrors have been broken some by me and some by you
when the stars of heaven appear, we'll know what to do
Yesterday's reflection is a changeling my friend
So let's hang on to tomorrow, with hope that never ends
When the stars of heaven appear we'll know what to do!

For future hopes aren't cast in glass with fragile crystal gaze
as loving dreams are captured entwined in starlight's haze
We lift our eyes to heaven's realm to find a future bright
With each desire we hold captive to entanglements of light
as loving dreams are captured, entwined in starlight's haze.

Dear Sam, what a beautiful poem, building hope and resilience frombroken mirrors and starlight dreams! The cyclical imagery of shattered reflections and renewed hope creates a powerful message: we can overcome past hurts and build a brighter tomorrow. I love the line "Yesterday's reflection is a changeling," perfectly capturing how we evolve and learn from our experiences. Your poem shows us to keep looking up, even when faced with challenges. Very Inspiring Poem. - Blessings, Daniel
