Starlight
Stars burn bright
against the backdrop
of a velvet black sky,
pearls of light
coruscating through
a veil of darkness
like beacons
to distant worlds.
A celestial body’s radiance
becomes its fossil,
a luminous relic
preserved by the eternal
vastness of the cosmos,
forever whispering its secrets
across the canvass of time.
