Star of the Night

Performed so very well
Told in a convincing way
Believed by everyone you tell

Bored by everything that rolls off your tongue
Tired of watching and listening
Hating the fact that I'm attending another rerun
I wish I was home watching tv so I could turn the channel cause I'm tired of the
    same thing

Put together and staged so nice
No wonder why you're the star of the night
Your performance was sad and pitiful
But only I knew that it was a bunch of bull

The curtains came down and the announcer came
He called the category's name
Then the winner's name

I knew it was you
But nobody else knew
You see, I know all about you
And the games you pull

All else taken by surprise
When announced you're the winner for best lie
All others clap and stand
As I sit face in hand

Do me a favor and don't shout me out
Just watch as I walk out
And wave goodbye, slowly
To this beautiful gown and forever me
