Star Crossed Forever

Star crossed lovers
Right from the start
Believing upon their wishes
Crossing both their hearts

They went to see a gypsy
All wise with a crystal ball
Wanting to know the future
Needing to hear it all

She told them it was destiny
That one day they would meet
To be together forever though
It wasn't meant to be

Each held something special
The other had to give
Once the gifts were exchanged
Their paths would sadly drift

So in love the two they were
They didn't heed the warning
Living day in day out
In holy matrimony

The years flew by before their eyes
They never saw it coming
But life she has her way
Her own twist in their story

She grew sick, got pale and thin
Her insides began slowly dying
He tried so hard to keep her well
To the point of his own demise

The night they passed
All who witnessed will never forget
The two who were never meant to be
Died in their sleep holding hands forever

Very beautiful, Lisa, touching. I have a poem called 'Bound By Love, Found In Time' about starcrossed lovers; you may like it as much as I like yours.
