Stand Your Ground

You are pulling me down like gravity
You can be so burdensome
You are pushing me down angrily
You are dangerous like a lion in the
spooky den unlike some
You got to build more self-esteem
I have no problem with you living your
dream
I encourage that from you...you are a good
sport
But you are young and you need work on
self-control and vigilance...

Now...I'm feeling like an outcast...
Living in the past...
living in the past
The future is coming too fast
Don't back stab me...
Oh dear agony...
Will you go away from me?
Why don't you tease someone else?
Be strong...no need to fight for my safety
I have the power to get me out of this pit of
vanity

You are fragile - you got to keep focussed
on your main goal
Get out of your shell and share your
thoughts with me
Let it out...like a waterfall, spewing out
from a rock - enliven your soul
Speak up and show who's boss in town -
don't rely on me
You can do it, it takes a little bit more
confidence

Now...I'm feeling like an outcast...
Living in the past...
living in the past
The future is coming too fast
Don't back stab me...
Oh dear agony...
Will you go away from me? Why are you
feeding me lies?
All I'm going to do is spit it out like gum
I ain't stupid...I am NOT dumb
So...why don't you bother someone else
your own size?
Be strong...no need to fight for my safety
I have the power to get me out of this pit of
insanity

Careless words bleed through my brain
It tortures you so like receiving whips on
the back
They hurt others' feelings and it neglects
happiness and invites pain
Keep on shining on like the moonbeams,
barely seen through the crack

There's something you and I LACK!
Shadows envelope you all of the
sudden...I'll pray for you today
Stand up for yourself, I'll be right behind
you, keeping track
Let your strength burn on...you brave lion,
snatching her prey

Now...I'm feeling like an outcast...
Living in the past...
living in the past
Be brave...cast away
The pangs of shame
The pangs of shame
The future is coming too fast
Don't back stab me...
Oh dear agony...when will you flee from
me? Never? Soon, possibly?
Will you ever go away from me?
Why don't you attack my enemies that
tower over me?
Be strong and be wary...no need to resist
gravity
No need to resist gravity
Gravity will mistreat you
It will use you
It will use you
It will abuse you
It will accuse you
Of crimes you haven't committed
It will use you
For the sole purpose to win an applause
Put your foot down
You won't be treated like a slave again
Stand your ground
Stand your ground
You won't fall down
Fall down...you won't fall down
Just be joyful and do not wear a frown
Wear a frown

I have the power to get me out of this pit of
vanity
Promise me and everyone else that you'll
remain brave
Even if you're stuck in your solitary cave
we'll get you out of there
We'll find you a perfect pair!
You'll just have to share...so be prepared
Be prepared
don't be scared
Don't be scared
you just sit there patiently and play fair
Play fair...
I dare you to play fair

The mighty will perish if you don't honor
them wholeheartedly
Hear their echoing lament, as fresh as
morning dew and they're alarmed by strife
Alarmed by strife
Speak your mind and you won't be like
many that disappear breathlessly
One of these days, you'll have to dig out
whatever's positive that happened to you
in your life

The truth will set you free
It won't leave you empty-handed
Just stand your ground, brave spirit of
serenity
It will never leave you alone on your
own...are you stranded?
