Stand Your Ground
Lift your voice now and tell this troubled space
You are no just its brand, nor fallen race
And subtle laws that make them pour their distaste
Upon the powerless will wrath displace
In us, nor shall we be banished to keep
Invisible, nor flinch the horrid heat
Of hate that at us like mad demons leap
Bring too your rules to the sour savage street
Bring too the fire of the ancient anguish
Stored up in innocense, bring presence loud
Against policies proud and devilish
O Africans, be not frightened or bowed
Stand your ground too, it is our blood purchased right
Stand your ground, do not flinch the dreadful fight!
