Stand By Me
When your knees buckle,
friends walk away.
When you fly white knuckle,
filled with dismay.
When you've finally had your fill,
your family deserts you.
When you tire of picking up the bill,
feeling like no one's true.
Stand by me without fear,
I'll stand by you, right here.
When you are one, body and soul,
place first with an amazing run.
When you've achieved your goal,
feel like you're finally done.
When life's just right
a bowl of cherries.
When you feel your might
like in your twenties.
Stand by me we can celebrate,
I'll stand by you, cheer your fate.
When you just want to yell
because your sick of following.
When no one else hears the bell
and you don't feel like mellowing.
When the world is not too stark
and you have no fear you'll lose face.
When you finally make your mark
or feel in love with the human race.
"Stand by me?"you don't need to ask,
I'll stand by you I don't wear a mask.
Whether you're happy or sad
I'll be there every time.
Whether you feel good or bad
I'll show up fast on a dime.
Stand by me, do,
I'll stand by you.
