Stalked By the Wind

The wind in the willow trees
Is stalking quite near,
It's picked up speed
And it's mocking my fear.
I feel it breathing
Down my neck,
It's chilling my body
And I feel like a wreck.
Please show me a place
Where I can flee,
Where the wind can't watch
Or follow me.
Guide me home
To the warmth of my place,
Where I leave no shadow
For the wind to trace.

Peggy are you just starting out or do you have many poems that you intend to post in the future? I find your style very pleasurable to read. This is wonderful!

Andrea I have only just begun to display my poetry; but I have been writing poetry since 1987. I have a total of 175 poems I have put together in a fancy poetry book. I look forward to posting more. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I liked the imagery in this poem of the wind as an entity chasing you.
