Staking a Claim

Staking a valid claim
is important I hear,
if one would reap reward
for inventing a thing,
or getting an award.

Staking a valid claim
is good information,
protecting ownership
or creative effort,
a new computer chip.

Staking a valid claim
it’s so necessary
to protect what you make,
even poem or rhyme
plagiarizers take.
