Stairway To Heaven

The rose may be fading , sweet scent almost gone ,
petals lying limp, stem covered in thorns
surrounded by great love , her smile opens wide ,
embracing the living, her troubles put aside ,
storms in the offing , dark days are nigh ,
her life now is ending , called from on high ,
time to be going , for now we say goodbye ,
cheeks deadly grey, eyes weary and leaden ,
taking the first steps on the stairway to heaven.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

A wonderful tribute, and a fantastic couplet. Good job, James.

touching remembrance, you wrote it well with compassion and a prayer of praise for her family and friends as well as her. Thanks for sharing, James.
