Charles, We have chipmunks here as well. I am not seeing them like I once did. The squirrels mostly are in the woods behind us and run out of the woods to our garden and orchard. Thanks for the visit. Sara

Squirrels are so agile. They run, hop, climb up and down and bite at fruits ripe and unripe. You have included all these in your beautiful haiku, dear Sara !

Thank you, Valsa. I wanted to express the idea of how sour that apple was but just could not fit it into a Haiku. Sara

Incredible use of imagery Sara. The natural world inspires a lot of beautiful artwork. This is how things work; it's exciting to see.

Tom, We have the gray squirrels here and sometimes a black one in a county adjoining us. I got that picture from the internet. I don't think I have ever seen a red one like that. Thanks for the kind review of my work. Sara

Vijay, My husband gets upset because they get the apples when they are little and green, take one bite, and drop it on the ground. They are starving that time of year after everything gets gone during the winter and they need to fill back up. Thanks for the visit. Sara

I have been watching the squirrels lately. They like to come to the window sill and look in the window, when the food is gone in the bird feeder lol. Cute poem. I enjoyed :)
