Spun from the Night

Is this how love’s day spring suddenly becomes night? I’m a helpless victim imprisoned in the night. How many souls have you captured oh, enchantress? Your purple garden blossoms to bring trailing night. An accomplished and long-gone pretty Delilah, The Philistines still stand at my door every night. I’m held in the visions of the fragrance of love, This love she has brought, throwing me into the night. I’ve been cut open and I'm bleeding profusely. Call me an angel lest I ease into the night. My love-struck comrades, don’t go through the door she opens, The light you see is a tunnel into the night. A sage has always told me that beauty is vain, It leads the unguarded souls into a pale night. Oh, tranquil river in the silence of twilight, Come and buoy me from the shackles of a sad night. Be careful, souls that gladly long for Rahlia, She spins her love from the muted threads of the night.
