Springtime

As the earth leans into the sun,
mother natures favorite
daughter awakens from her
cold deep slumber and shakes
off her snowy blanket. Her eyes
wide and bright reflecting
warmth, the breath of her yawn
a southerly breeze, and her
arms stretching and extending
with flowers from the fields.
Spring has finally awakened!
