Spring Versus Autumn By Robert and Vienna
the ice is melting
in the streams through the meadow
where new growth appears
fragrant hyacinths
push their way up from the ground
to meet the spring sun
some bright pink blossoms
are budding in the branches
of a cherry tree.
some yellow tulips
and yellow honeysuckles
mimic the sunshine
birds are coming back
from their dwellings in the south
where they spend winter
there’s a sky of blue
life spawns in every hue
colorful season
tiny leaves are falling
a cold September morning
time is slowing down
freshly cut flowers
arranged in crystal vase
by the bay window
the willow trees are
acknowledging their season
coming to an end
red brick leaves mimic
autumn's colors rich to dark
a chocolate bird sings
landing on a wire
he recalls a summer flight
huddled in the cold
painted skies are grey
life is about to unfold
winters wake up call
