Spring Rides the Air
There’s a certain look to, the way the birds are winging;
a sort of exuberance in flight.
Perhaps they’re dancing to the sun’s, sudden singing or
the winds of change, as they arrive.
It’s clear that spring, rides those winds
and the birds, piggy-back;
spirits of the air, all friends;
of elation, there’s no lack.
The air, it sings of fine fresh blooms;
they’ll all emerge from flower cocoons.
When petals yawn and stretch to sky;
then we’ll know that it’s springtime.
But, before the break of spring,
hatchlings hatch, begin to sing; their hunger songs, both day and night; then when fed, chirp with delight.
Though not here, it’s in the air;
when spring arrives...color’s everywhere!
