Spring Peepers

Spring peepers

I could hear spring peepers singing in the dark
From the water near the dam
Night fell upon peach colored skies
All around the mountain
Reminders of how far I have climbed
Through the mountains of life lay before me
Just how far there is to carry on
Around the corner, there is so much more
Reflections flickered across the street
My eyes felt the end of a long day
Spring peepers called all the way home
From trees through the open windows
Reaching my ears, calling me to sleep
To dream of sights from views captured
--- By trying and trying again ---
