SPRING IS SPRUNG
SPRING IS SPRUNG
Spring is the time when winter’s cold is done
But it is never thought too soon to come
First hints to welcome the overdue sun
Time for rejoicing, but more so for some
Thrusting growth is bursting onto the scene
Mouths emerging hungry from their long sleep
Tree limbs now filling with sorely missed green
This life’s new tide is one memory to keep
Youthful months turn into summer’s own time
But such investment will produce the best
Species continue, the numbers still climb
New offspring born, like chicks in the nest
Yet when down in the southern hemisphere
With Spring in September, it does seem *****
