Spring in the Mountains

The mountain air is cool with morning light, Where wildflowers awake from winter’s gloom, The valleys echo songs of pure delight. A gentle mist retreats before our sight, The emerald leaves and blossoms now resume, The mountain air is cool with morning light. Along the streams, the water dances bright, And waking birds in ancient trees consume The valleys echo songs of pure delight. The thawing earth alive; making all just right Reveals the promise nature will resume The mountain air is cool with morning light. Soft petals drift, a fleeting, fragrant flight, As breezes carry hope that will re-bloom, The valleys echo songs of pure delight. So when the dawn dispels the lingering night, And seasons shift within the mountain’s room, The mountain air is cool with morning light, The valleys echo songs of pure delight.
