Notes About The Poem
Spring is a wondrous time of year when the biting cold of Winter is gone and the warm sun welcomes us to come outside and breathe the fresh, flower scented air of Spring. It just helps us all to feel just a bit better.
Spring Fancy
I haven't seen a spring time,
In a long, long while,
That didn't lift the heart a bit,
And bring a little smile.
I feel the sun so warm and sweet,
The Spring time air so light,
And filled with music everywhere,
As song birds end their flight.
Warm Spring rains will melt the snow,
Remains from Winter past,
Encouraging new growth,
From sleeping things to wake at last.
Now the garden and the woodlands,
Burst forth in garments new.
The fresh new scent of Spring time,
Bright colors of all hue.
The birds, the bees, the butterflies,
There's nothing quite like Spring.
Everything so fresh and new,
The grass so soft and green.
I have to stop and thank The Lord,
From whom all good things come,
For the wonder that surrounds me,
From dawn to setting sun.
