Spring Brings Wings

sun spots and rain drops
tired caterpillar flops
bunny does hippity
too tired for hops

rainbows and closed shutters
a butterfly flickers but no flutters
bumble bees buzzin’
wings weaken, engine sputters

fireflies spark the night
owls put up a fight
nightingales up too late
early worms are birds delight

daffodils just eager to bloom
crocuses squeeze in, not much room
hummingbirds are checking in
Red Robin wins best plume

spring brings out the best
welcome mat laid for the guest
breath of fresh air
a day for all filled with zest
