Spring Break

If I were independent.

I would drive.

I would drive everyone around.

We would smile.

We would be friends.

Taking turns.

At the wheel.

I would be generous and helpful.

Offering to drive the most.

Driving the best.

If I were independent.

I would pay for the hotel.

With my money from my job.

They would cheer for me.

We would cheer for everything.

If I were independent…

We would be friends.

I would be invited to go.

But maybe spring break…

Just isn’t for me.
