Spring Anthem
daffodils
nodding
their heads
keeping rhythm
with the wind
miniature
white
rose-like
bridle veil
bowing over the fence
tiny wildflowers
in pinks and whites
happily enjoying
extra hours
of daylight
vinca vines
on the hillside
in showy deep
lavender
sublime
sunshine yellow
forsythia
blooms
burst open
on bare limbs
a bushy,
rose-pink
japonica
turns its face
to the sun
spring
sings her anthem
as soft showers begin
welcoming new life
to earth again
