Spring

After a winter of dark hibernation
I am grateful for the light of Spring
Feeling fresh air pass bare ankles
Going for walks on longer evenings
Spring is the season of new freedom.

A time of sweet scented white lilacs
When bulbs planted in the winter
Burst to life with bright new blooms
Warmed by a pale honey sunshine
Spring is the season for new growth.

As the palette of our days change
To brighter, warmer, happier hues
Our hearts are caressed to smile
We are gentled into giving, loving
Spring is a time for new friendships.
