Spring

In winter's nigh,t filled with freezing cold.
Coldness, gradually descends into the past
Awaiting the arrival of spring.
With fruits, hanging heavily
Ripe, clinging from the vines.
The mornings dew, still clings
Awakening mother nature
From it's winters bed of rest .

For the bounty will be shared by all.
It's recipes, mixed and blended together.
This new season, awakens, from it's slumber.
So quickly did she wake,
And dressed herself with fine greenery.
And all the shades of summer that touched her
Bring forth new growth,
In the warm summers breeze.

your imaginary here is incredible. I like the way you used spring as a personification as a woman. My favourite verse here in this piece is "And dressed herself with fine greenery". Beautiful write. Love, Sami.

Beautifully written, Phyllis! Just today I was looking at the peach tree and thinking they'll be ready to eat by the weekend. Love the way you describe the transition from winter to summer via use of the "greenery." Love, Carolyn
