Spreading Darkness

Is there a spreading darkness,
an aggressive need not to know?
Or, is it simply a changing of the rules
and the words,
as the future takes hold?

The things I think are important,
and that I share with
my ilk,
are no longer needed by
an up and coming folk.

They work from different knowledge,
gained from their own lives, and
rules and words are changed by
the sheer bulk of their numbers.
Their truths now outweigh mine.

Necessary for me to
remain relevant,
is not to fight over knowledge
but to find what is universal
and true.
