Splash
I sit in golden gladness on the shore
on this – an early summer peaceful day.
Sun high in blue sky. Who could ask for more?
My toes are children! Happily they play
by wiggling down into the sun-kissed grains
of sand into which I have dug my feet.
Cool water of the ocean now ordains
I take my feet and give them a nice treat.
I run at waves – refreshment rolling fast!
My feet, splish-splashing – leap! And the minutes fly.
If only I could make this feeling last.
I’d bottle it! When grey days happened by,
I’d splash it on! Now back to the dry land,
I run to plunge my toes again in sand.
