Spite

I’m just so drained
Im slap out of fight
It’s rained and rained
Drowned is my sight
My world is so dark
I can’t find the light
If there were an escape
I’d be on the next flight
But this isn’t right
My neighbors can see
My chest feels tight
I struggle to breathe
I keep on moving
But what am I proving
I search for relief
For something soothing
It won’t come tonight
Tomorrow, it might
But I’m fairly certain
It won’t, out of spite
