Spirit, Like a Rose

Sometimes, my spirit blossoms like a rose Opening up full petal to quietly reveal Its fragrant presence in my languishing soul And relishing the sweet scent of perfume Beckons to me come nearer and revel In its awesome glory. Cautions me, too, To avoid its sharp and piercing thorns.
