Spilt Milk

“Spilt Milk”
Warm milk before bedtime spilt before sleep The salty tear in a body of work along the dark line kissed steamed open like an envelope secrets laid bare reveling in whispers moist lipped, barely contained lovers and their conspiracies pulses felt quills dipped in the inky milk-ness of it all Deprivation skillfully, silkily depraved satiate another de Sade dreaming of dark nights with recalcitrant de Beauvoir pandering upon his wake The insanity of daylight arrives No point crying The note of contrition left and played on the Demagogue’s soft pillows Rain hits the windows it reads: The Hanged Man Rider-Waite (LadyLabyrinth / 2020)
“Milk” / Garbage https://youtu.be/y14Kp1DitpE
"A savage place, as holy and enchanted As e’er beneath a waning moon was haunted By woman wailing for her demon-lover" *** "...It was a miracle of rare device, A sunny pleasure-dome with caves of ice A damsel with a dulcimer In a vision once I saw: It was an Abyssinian maid And on her dulcimer she played, Singing of Mount Abora. Could I revive within me Her symphony and song, To such a deep delight ’twould win me, That with music loud and long, I would build that dome in air, That sunny dome! those caves of ice! And all who heard should see them there, And all should cry, Beware! Beware! His flashing eyes, his floating hair! Weave a circle round him thrice, And close your eyes with holy dread For he on honey-dew hath fed, And drunk the milk of Paradise.

Especially liked the finishing lines of this sultry write. I got into trouble with my blog post--now deleted--when I railed against dumb fucks who don't bother returning reviews as a courtesy. I was told I write smut and that I am not welcomed here with my opinions. LOL. I just can't stay out of trouble anywhere. Got kicked off a recovery site when I pointed out that not only is relapse NOT a part of recovery, and for folks to stop babying chronic relapsers. All in a day's work.

Levasseur, revert my note below; this is a poem about "CHOICES" : "time", "lovers", "love", "pasts", "futures" and "independence" (which translates into "Freedom"). Many people have many different agendas for writing their lives away in this place. Many readers within the site and ... externally - are reading others, looking for 'answers' and small or large 'confirmations' to their own perils, their own jubilations, their own 'existence'. It is a certified guarantee that 'most' writing here and reading here (internally or externally), are dealing with issues enough to bury the Titanic under the silt at the deepest place at the bottom of Life’s ocean - no one (and I mean 'absolutely' no one), is without issues or faults in this place, in this world. There are no saints in this place. That 'fact' is evident.

Only writers and readers who are on a journey seeking validation, but mostly, at the end of the day, the search is for the Key. The Key is Love...to everything in this life. Love oversees 'empathy'. Some are doing it and have done it harder than most, this 'truth' is acknowledged. Some are 'serving hard time' without ever having stepped inside a court room or prison ‘reception centre’ prior to an a-typical incarceration. The ones who are writing with courage, who are and have been incarcerated through the criminal justice system - are given the rare choice to bury the past and move forward with hope, faith, positivity, dignity or remain eternally damned, locked away in their own minds. I would like to think that this site is an open forum that supports 'ALL' writers (wherever they are 'housed' in their lives) looking at themselves first before harshly and ignorantly judging other writers.

Many people who are not criminally convicted are serving time in their own way, damned and locked away in their own minds. It is a "Choice" we all make. We are all heading in the same direction, different roads. Poetry underneath it's camouflage - is all about Love (in one way or another, the rags are wet with love we are squeezing out daily). When you come to think long and hard about it, it is a common denominator in everyone’s hearts and minds...and it will be the last thing we think about at the end of our lives when we are faced with 'that' road we are all walking towards. Everyone has a story to get out there, somehow. Even the trolls and the hypocritical, arrogant, misinformed, mis-educated, ignorant. The ones whose hearts and minds are open will understand this. Write you - write well. The universe, and a greater power – works in mysterious ways. Truth, goes hand in hand with Love. It all comes back to Love. This is the Light we are all seeking. Inevitably.

I'm not interested in the hypocritical views of those who profess to be more qualified as a 'writer' or a 'human' - "a class act", better educated,more refined, more 'holier than thou'. Usually those people are sadly lacking all 4 of those traits. Positive criticism is welcome;but if a person is all about tearing another writer to bits, with or without innuendo, they are not worth my time,nor energy;to me it confirms they're sadly lacking in self-confidence with a need to self-promote their own ego to the detriment of another writer. I don’t read the blogs anymore, nor contribute to them – the majority of blogs I have read, are disheartening - in the 3yrs I've been here, I have seen numerous souls torn to bits as if by a 'school' of pirahna - a dour self-righteous school sadly lacking in empathy, with a generosity of positive mentoring through genuinely helpful critique - the responses are usually (in the main) hypocritical, denigrating another writer/s as a form of sick entertainment.

Sticky feet on flypaper for the hive mentality in there. I couldn’t give a rat's ass about comments in the long run. If a reader enjoys what I write, fine, leave a comment or not. If they have umbrage towards my writing, they don't have to read me, just ignore me and move on. No need to troll a person to their death - which for some sensitive souls can occur (suicide). Paper Tigers - no point crying over spilt milk. Just write. Write what comes to you naturally. And write well. Leave it in the parking lot here with the small assembly of crumbs (gifted, talented writers) and those doing 360's burning their wheels to fill in time. Or take it outside to the real world of top 5 publishers or their alternative imprints, who will confirm, irrefutably, whether your writing is definitely GOOD...or not.

I wrote this poem called Bezerke, it blends my thoughts on the hive mentality with what we all went through last year and continue forward with into our lives. Ignore the hive. The writers who are the purest and best type of writers - are the ones who don't follow the herd. They are all about collaboration and mentoring in a positive way. Those writers, you will find write naturally, and whether it is creative imagination or reality, they write their 'truth'. Write and write well, whether it's a sensual write (as many do write sensual here, some are quite crass without sensitivity or emotional intelligence, or intellect)...or if you are going to write a limerick about pickles...just make sure it's cool ;) and not a predictable dull read.

“When she does not find love, she may find poetry. Because she does not act, she observes, she feels, she records; a color, a smile awakens profound echoes within her; her destiny is outside her, scattered in cities already built, on the faces of men already marked by life, she makes contact, she relishes with passion and yet in a manner more detached, more free, than that of a young man.

Being poorly integrated in the universe of humanity and hardly able to adapt herself therein, she, like the child, is able to see it objectively; instead of being interested solely in her grasp on things, she looks for their significance; she catches their special outlines, their unexpected metamorphoses. She rarely feels a bold creativeness, and usually she lacks the technique of self-expression;

but in her conversation, her letters, her literary essays, her sketches, she manifests an original sensitivity. The young girl throws herself into things with ardor, because she is not yet deprived of her transcendence; and the fact that she accomplishes nothing, that she is nothing, will make her impulses only the more passionate. Empty and unlimited, she seeks from within her nothingness to attain All." Simone de Beauvoir, The Second Sex

“My life was hurrying, racing tragically toward its end. And yet at the same time it was dripping so slowly, so very slowly now, hour by hour, minute by minute. One always has to wait until the sugar melts, the memory dies, the wound scars over, the sun sets, the unhappiness lifts and fades away.” Simone de Beauvoir, The Woman Destroyed

“There was once a man who lost his shadow. I forget what happened to him, but it was dreadful. As for me, I've lost my own image. I did not look at it often; but it was there, in the background, just as Maurice had drawn it for me. A straightforward, genuine, "authentic" woman, with out mean-mindedness, uncompromising, but at the same time understanding, indulgent, sensitive, deeply feeling, intensely aware of things and of people, passionately devoted to those she loved and creating happiness for them. A fine life, serene, full, "harmonious." It is dark: I cannot see myself anymore. And what do the others see? Maybe something hideous.” Simone de Beauvoir, The Woman Destroyed

"When I was a child, when I was an adolescent, books saved me from despair: that convinced me that culture was of the highest values..." de Beauvoir. I would say that LOVE was sadly lacking in her life. But a fairly accurate reflection of childhood and adolescence for some...who barely survived.

"'Choices' are the tokens that take us to places perhaps we never wished we'd visited, but we leave with greater knowledge and a firmer and clearer understanding of ourselves and the truth of it all. We are a book of life constantly re-editing our pages and at the root of it all, we rely on our internal compass - for some, this is an elusive marker to locate, but eventually it is found. Never judge a book by its cover." Leanne Lovejoy-Burton
