Spent So Much Sunshine

I'm flat broke when darkness comes.
Little did I know how light a day could be.
Just one sunset has emptied my pocket of dreams,
A cotton black hole replaces my hand when removed.

Only dawn can reveal the true cost of my loss,
Because that spree starts all over again.
Soaking briefly in bright riches that warm me,
I realize this bankruptcy just twelve hours can bring.

"A poem to me is the essence of any thought,
Being built from its foundation into tower scraping sky.
It can fly like no other bird to places never seen,
Even spaceships can only dream of taking its place."
