Spending Time
Time is Spending
Never Ending
Time it's Bending
Life it's Rending
I paid the Price
But the Price ain't right
I had suffered the Cost
And now I'm at a Loss
Time is outta sight
Like a Shooting Star at Night
And try as I might
I just can't get things right
For Heaven's Sake
I can't catch a break
On the Deals that I make
It's always give more and never take
It's The Dancing in Reverse
I fear that might get hurt
Cause Life can be Adverse
And Time can be Worse
Yes, Father Time has made me jump through hoops
In everything I try to do
And everywhere I go
Father Time keeps changing the Channel to a different show
In my Mortal Life
My Time is Rife
With Confusion and Strife
With Useless, Chaotic Hype
The Zeitgeist
Pulls a Heist
He came in through the Backdoor and Stole my Mind
Which will probably drive me Mad in Time
But I guess I can't Father Time blame
For trying to drive me Insane
But all he really did was just make me Mad
Cause he stole all that I had, Good Times and Bad
So, the Zeitgeist down I track
To get my Mind Back
I said, "Father Time, your Time is up!"
"Enough is Enough!"
To feel better, I take my Mental Meds
Over and Over, Again and Again
Till I actually believe that Father Time is.my Friend
"But he's not, he's your Enemy, " my Heart said
Father Time sent for Death to come and Collect
My Soul cause he decided my life is at an end
But God is my real True Friend
And in Heaven He'd put me back together and myself Resurrect
"Well yes", God said, "This life may be over and done"
"But you still have a new Life to live, another One"
"Like a Nine-Lives living Cat"
"Get up, put on your Armor, your Black Suit, Cane and Hat"
"It's Time to join The Dancing at that"
"It's Cool, Hip and Groovy, it's where it's at!"
"And now try to sing your Song"
"And maybe with Father Time you'll get along"
But no one is Father Time Befriending
And the Message he's Sending
Is not one of Mind Blending
Or even Mind Mending
Father Time
Relies on Rhymes
Riddles and Puns too
All so that he can get one over on me and you
Father Time fights dirty
His Poems can get rather foul and wordy
Now that I've started my new life at Three and Thirty
I'm the Man, Hurdy Gurdy
I am quite Subdued
With the New Life that God has given me to use
In the midst of all of Father Time's Subtrafuge
I remain confused...
So Dude
I'm screwed
By all of this, I am not amused
I better think and act fast or Time I will lose
I gotta loose the Hounds of War
I just do it, I don't know what for
And I release the Kraken
Cause I gotta get some action
Father Time is on the attack
And that's a fact
I had better move fast cause this is the third act
To get my Time back
I better make up my Face in my favourite disguise
Cause I'm going out tonight
I need to take all of my Keys for all of the locks
To escape this Cardboard Box
I better like hell run
Cause I'm the only one
Under the Moon and Sun
I need to catch up with Father Time before my Time is done
In Father Time's Dark Sarcasm
He gave Death my Mind, heart and Soul, he's has um
If I can jump his Deep, Dark, Dank Chasum
I can use my Drums so I can Jazz um
Maybe from death's hands, I can Snatch um
I must beware of the scent of Foul Jasmine
That's Death's Hunting Scent for Souls to Catch um
To buy back my Mind, Heart and Soul, into the Well of Time, my Pennies I Cast um
I can roll the Bones
All on my own
I can play the Ghoul's Game
But will I remain Sane?
I will have a Meeting of the Minds
With Old Father Time
I reminded him that in the End, against Jesus he really can't do anything
Cause He is the King of Kings
So Father Time ordered Death to Desist and Cease
And my Mind, Heart and Soul to release
He restored them back to me
And set me Free...
But, I know that one day Death will take me, of course
To ride with him on his Pale Horse
Yes, one day I will be gone
But Father Time will Forever Live on...
