Spend the Day With Poetry

Life comes at you through a haze of words distorted and cloaked by the grey murk of meaning. Its shape becomes solid as it passes through the last droplets of syllables. In its flurry Life knocks you aside with a whoosh of stuff. Leaving you stumbling in its slip stream wishing you could spend the day with poetry. A bit embarrassed to say that I only started to read poetry at 52 years young.. now I can't imagine life without it. I was missing a beautiful world.. Hugs my friend.. Arlene

No matter how my day is going, whether it is good or bad, I can always go and read some poetry, and just let it bring the comfort to me... A great poem you've written here, Scott. Well said!

I volunteer 3 days a week at Poets House which is a 60,000 volume library of poetry. If you are ever in New York you should go there. As you say it is nice to spend the day with poetry. Peace & Love Matthew Anish

wow, that is SO cool. You even put the words there. I wish I knew right off how to do these videos so I could put mine at youtube too!! I do have ONE poem that was used by a film guy. He made a movie with my poem A Tale of Fire and Ice. I should get the link to it and put it with my poem sometime. A three and a half minute production with actors! YEP, this one of yours is GREAT

"Life comes at you through a haze of words distorted and cloaked" or "Its shape becomes solid" memorable lines.. distorted/cloaked/solid/vain/rigid words. They are not competent to convey real truth. Only poems can do that. Well written. Very meaningful. Thank you Scott.
