Special Touch

Lieing here in this hospital bed,
Is the last place that I want to be.
For it's the christmas season, and in five days,
I would like to be gathered around the christmas tree!

So, my mood has been very low and sad,
A pity-party I guess I have thrown!
Then she walked into my room,
And her care and concern for me she made known!

She was jolly and cheerful with the christmas spirit,
Even though she was having to work too!
But, that didn't stop her from doing her job
She was skilled and knew what to do!

This special nurse is named Darby,
And her touch is special in many ways!
Her hands are not the only way she touches me,
I am touched by the way she listens and by what she has to say!

So, physical touch may be needed in healing
But, sometimes it helps to have a listening ear
You may just need that SPECIAL TOUCH
especially during the christmas time of year!
