Special Time

Watching her laugh with her eyes
I remembered a moment of joy
The sweet fragrance of her perfume
Turned my mind to a special time
When I was still just a sweet boy
Obsessed only with love and marriage....
Now I am old and admiring beauty
Much differently than when I was young
Stopping to see the gifts of nature
Like the falling leaves of autumn
The sprawling white cliffs of Dover
The paintings of Dali and Van Gogh
And the gifts of beauty like the girl
Whose laugh and scent transported
My thoughts away from here and now
