Sparkling Diamonds

awake am I at three am as dark sky closes in
not a sound as I look skywards 
I then espy the brightest light when
sparkling diamonds rain on me 
'tis Venus sprinkling her gems of love
the brightest jewel in the darkest sky

Written after a sleepless night on 7th August 2021
