Spark Light

Spark Light
Edward Clay
Created 1996

What mote of soul
clothed in words.
Comes forth from inside.
Born to be voiced for others to hear,
To answer need for it to exist,
To respond to drives inside
as basic as breath.
To put forth
from the dark shrouded places inside of me.
Something of the light
into the light of the world around.
Possibly
it will fade
into the vast places of the world
to die.
But my hope is
that it will spark light
in another’s spirit
