Spark in the dark
Don’t blame me if you lose my love halfway.
I once wished too much, like a spark in the dark,
and built a house of love-dreams.
You took my hand with gladness,
then slowly unmade me with your quiet indifference,
like a tide pulling sand from the coast.
Don’t blame me if you lose my love halfway,
And pretend my love, nothing but a fantasy whim.
When your silence cuts deeper like a knife
than your words ever healed my life.
You never saw the scars you left, like cracks in glass—
Or perhaps you saw them and let them pass.
