Spaces Between

Every night as I dream
We're living as one
Despite the spaces
  between.

I hold you
All through the night
I wake to Reveille
and begin to cry.

The dreams
Are so real
Reality it seems
Is no big deal.

Few more weeks
And you'll be here
Those dreams are gone
I'm holding you near.

Hold me tight
And never let go
I couldn't stand and fight
If I didn't know;

Every night as I dream
We're living as one
Despite the spaces
  between.
