Southern Man
A few months back, I met you.
Strong, silly, lean Southern man.
Separated by years, but only a few
Nervous I was and I wanted to, but never ran.
You and I weren't meant for much,
I was just a hit it and quit it.
But you changed your mind when our lips first touched.
You were just the fire that I needed to be lit
Soon after, I had begun to fall.
Yet you never answered when I called.
Then you found your way into her arms again,
leavin' me behind.
You told me that it soon will end,
but I couldn't get you off my mind.
So you stopped me and let me down
for her, the little girl I wish to be.
Now I'm stuck to ____ around,
But I only want you, you with me.
