Southern Hospitality

Purple pauses peach pleasantries Offering hot coffee or sweet tea Warm welcomes with charming smile Sitting on the porch in southern style Saying hey to everyone of y’all Thickest accent in the way you talk Appreciative of nature that silver sings In eyes and hearts of soul that dreams

Girl the South hasn't been like that in a long time sadly. Still like your piece though! I have to put my phone back down so do me a favor, tell me which of your poems was an 'in the moment' write. In the pain, in the anger, an in deep love moment, not written for a contest or to try a format, but written because you felt so strongly in that moment and you needed to release it. One that means a lot to you even if it doesn't fit all of someone else's parameters. Tell me so I can go read it ;)

Native Southerners are still like this! Transplants are not. Unfortunately as the old southerners die off the city becomes full of the character from where everyone was running from. If you don’t get it bless your heart. Lol

The South has a pleasant hospitality, and you captured it in this poem. Thanks for a poem that lauds an section of America.
