Southern Cross

you had to know
our lives changed
forever at hello
you touched me
like a lightning bolt
i loved you completely
before the thunder rolled

my sweet sweet love
between the continents
and the seas
that separate us now
on my Irish soul
i miss you
with every breath

please always always know
that every part
of you has touched
every part of me
i am but
the distance of
a wish from your side

watch a shooting star
traverse the Southern Cross
and intimately know
we witness that journey as one
i claim that star in our name
my love if it takes forever
