Sounds of Silence

She fell in love, betrayed by friendly foe,
Dreams were buried alive, love couldn't grow.

Alone in the crowd, with her half dead soul,
She thought she was free, yet caged, as a whole.

Her only choice was, forgive and forget,
And put to rest, the calm storms of regret.

Silence surrounded her, she held sad smile,
And feared the sounds of silence, all the while.

Dull knife of loneliness, pierced her heart,
Fresh frozen memories, were hard to part.

This is a great and sad poem with a lot of messages. and forgive and forget is the most important one, I think. On a totally different subject: have you heard the version of 'Sound of Silence' by 'Disturbed'. Great cover version of the 'Simon and Garfunkel' song. Wishes, Kai
