Sounds of Autumn
Beneath the garden wood pile I hear sounds of excavation
As a hedgehog starts preparing for his autumn hibernation
My tortoise getting drowsy ready for his autumn sleep
Is tunnelling beneath the debris of the garden rubbish heap
Squirrels burying nuts and acorns, planning for the months ahead
Know exactly where to find them when requiring to be fed
Red berries bright and glistening on my Holly Bush so prickly
An autumn treat for birds, as they scoff them oh so quickly
I would really love to hibernate from autumn through to spring
I could snore through all the snow and ice and wake up really thin
