Sound of Silence
A sound of silence in the ears,
Listens to music of the spheres;
Where shadowy echoes from dreamy wings,
Whispers songs the angel sings.
And in realms that live on high,
The prayers of saints go passing by.
In this world we have one moon,
Where sands of time run too soon;
Like fireflies sparkling in the night,
Glowing splendors in the moony light,
Adorning spaces in the sky,
Till they burn and the flame should die.
Where angel beings sit and ponder,
With all the stars that glow with wonder;
And a tender touch of dew kissed showers,
Grace the face of upturned flowers.
Till rose of dawn brings light of day,
And takes the dream of night away
